Every home in Nagpur is built one of two ways: a load bearing structure where walls carry the load, or an RCC frame where columns and beams carry it and walls only fill in.

Load bearing structure

Economical for ground plus one, simple to execute, and thick walls provide thermal mass. But openings are restricted, walls cannot be removed later, and vertical extension is usually not possible.

RCC frame structure

  • Large column-free spans and wide openings
  • Internal walls can be reconfigured later without touching the structure
  • Better seismic performance with proper detailing and ductile reinforcement
  • Designed provision for adding a floor in future

What good RCC execution looks like

  • M25 grade concrete with cube tests at 7 and 28 days
  • Correct cover blocks — insufficient cover is the leading cause of rebar corrosion
  • Minimum 14 days of continuous curing on slabs
  • Lap lengths and stirrup spacing as per structural drawing, verified before casting
